Sangeet Mala n: a musical garland

Sangeet Mala was formed in Spring 2000. During its three years in existence Sangeet Mala has attracted many new members, we have also been invited to perform all over Scotland at a number of both local and national events as well as in our own right. We have collaborated with Scottish musicians. Sangeet Mala has been featured in newspapers, music journals and on BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4, and we have produced our first CD – "Painting the Earth"

In 2002 we were part of the Edinburgh Mela’s innovative musical collaboration - The Roses Turn to Bloom – performing with almost 50 musicians from all over Scotland and Ireland.

At the moment we have 35 performing members as well as a large number of non performing members who come from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. They include homemakers, office workers, doctors, teachers, university lecturers and students. Please contact us for more information if you would like to get involved.
